Ask the adult subject whether the edit may be made, where it may be shown, and how long it may be kept. Approval for a private writers-room reference is not automatic approval for a public post or advertisement. Avoid strangers, public figures, minors, private medical contexts, or images supplied by someone who cannot confirm ownership. Keep the unedited source beside the approved result so a later removal request can be handled without ambiguity.
