An AI signature generator is most useful when the job is visual: create a neat mark, compare a few typographic directions, capture a natural freehand stroke, or prepare a transparent asset for a permitted form, letter, slide, profile, mockup, or email graphic. The immediate preview makes decisions about width, slant, weight, and spacing visible before you place the image.
The output is still an image. It does not verify who made it, prove that a person reviewed a document, lock the document against later changes, or record consent and time. Those are process and security properties, not drawing properties. When a recipient requires an electronic signature, use its approved signing flow. When a document has legal, financial, employment, health, property, or identity consequences, ask the responsible organization what method it accepts.
Enter a name or initials when repeatability matters more than reproducing handwriting. Compare the Hand, Editorial, Compact, and Mono registers, then adjust slant and stroke weight. Typed mode is helpful for design studies, speaker cards, letter mockups, and simple forms that expressly accept an inserted image. It is also easier to proof because every character begins as readable text.
Use freehand mode when the movement of your actual mark matters. A mouse can work for short initials, while a trackpad, tablet pen, or finger usually produces more natural curves. Start with a loose full-size stroke instead of tracing tiny movements. The canvas keeps the background transparent, so only the ink becomes part of the downloaded file.
Use typed examples to find proportion and slant, then redraw the mark by hand. This separates visual direction from motor execution. You may discover that a compact typed specimen clarifies the overall width while a freehand version preserves a distinctive capital or terminal stroke. Keep the version that remains recognizable at the final display size.
A signature looks different on an open canvas than it does inside a narrow form field. Begin with the destination. Check whether the field is horizontal or square, how much white space surrounds it, and whether a printed label already appears below. A long flourish that feels balanced at full width may collide with nearby text after resizing. A dense initial may become a dark blot when shown at email-signature size.
Export at the provided 1200 × 420 size and scale down in the destination while preserving the aspect ratio. Downscaling from a clear source is usually safer than enlarging a small compressed image. Inspect the result at 100 percent view and in a test PDF, not only in an editor that smooths the preview. If the stroke breaks, increase weight before export. If the mark becomes a rectangle, confirm that the destination supports PNG transparency.
Leave breathing room around the ink. Cropping directly against a capital or descender makes the image feel mechanically clipped and risks losing anti-aliased edge pixels. The generator includes a wide canvas for that reason. Keep an untouched master and create destination-specific copies instead of repeatedly resizing the same file.
A modest forward slant can make a typed mark feel active, but it also pushes the right edge farther than the baseline suggests. Reverse slant feels more deliberate and unusual, yet some letter combinations become harder to scan. Test both extremes, then return toward the center until the name reads immediately. The best setting is the one that survives the destination width, not the most dramatic setting on the large preview.
Hairline marks can disappear after compression, printing, or placement over texture. Increase weight or simplify overlapping strokes if the final surface is busy.
More weight improves visibility, but enclosed spaces in e, a, o, and compact initials can fill in. Review the mark at actual size before keeping the heavier version.
A reusable visual signature should have one master proportion, stroke treatment, and clear-space rule. Avoid making a separate freehand attempt for every layout if the mark is intended as a stable graphic. Store the approved transparent master, document its minimum display width, and derive smaller copies from it. This is a design-system practice, not evidence that the mark authenticates a person.
Name the file by purpose rather than by a vague label such as final-final. For example, separate the transparent master from a small email version and from a document-specific copy. Do not bundle a personal signature image into a public template, downloadable brand kit, website source folder, or shared slide library. A transparent PNG is easy to reuse precisely because it is easy to copy.
When sending the image to another person, state what it may be used for and what document it belongs to. If the workflow is sensitive, skip the image handoff and sign inside the organization’s controlled system instead. That system can attach identity and integrity evidence that a standalone image cannot provide.

Yes. Switch to Draw by hand and use a finger or stylus inside the canvas. A larger tablet or a phone in landscape orientation usually provides more room for long strokes. Draw slowly enough to keep joins controlled, but use a natural continuous movement. If the result feels cramped, clear the canvas and try again rather than editing a poor stroke into place.
Transparency lets the signature sit over a white, cream, coloured, or lightly textured document without bringing a rectangular background with it. Preview the exported file on the actual destination before sending it. Very dark ink can disappear on a dark surface, and resizing too far down can make thin strokes break or look uneven.

Resize it proportionally in the destination document; do not stretch width and height independently. Yes. The typed mode accepts initials, a full name, or a short display name. A business wordmark and a personal signature are not automatically interchangeable, however. Confirm what the receiving workflow asks for. Do not imitate another person’s mark, and do not present a decorative business-name image as proof that a specific person authorized a document.
Treat the PNG as reusable identity-adjacent artwork. Keep the master in private storage, send it only to intended recipients, remove it from public templates, and avoid leaving copies in shared downloads folders.
